Avoid blood-thinning medications (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin) for 5–7 days prior to treatment to minimize bruising, unless prescribed by your doctor. Also avoid supplements such as Fish Oil, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, and Ginseng for 5 days prior. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your visit, and arrive with a clean face free of makeup if possible. Inform Dr. Firas of any recent changes to your medical history or medications.
After Your Visit
Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours. Remain upright for 4 hours following the injection — do not lie flat. Avoid strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for 24 hours, and avoid extensive sun or heat exposure (saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds) for 24 hours. Mild redness, swelling, or bruising at injection sites is normal and typically resolves quickly.
Common Questions
Discomfort is typically minimal. We use ultra-fine needles, and treatments are usually very quick. Most patients describe the sensation as a slight pinch. Topical numbing cream is available on request, though most patients find it unnecessary.
